Resolute Health Hospital is Tenet’s 79^th hospital and its 19^th in Texas. Last month, Tenet announced plans with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center to build a new teaching hospital in El Paso, due to open in late 2016. And earlier this month, Tenet completed the acquisition of Texas Regional Medical Center, a 70-bed hospital in Sunnyvale, Texas.

For-profit hospital operator Community Health Systems has agreed to pay more than $97 million plus interest to the federal government, settling allegations that it submitted false claims for short-stay admissions. “I think that there are a number of people in the healthcare industry who have a growing concern about corporate pressure influencing medical decision-making,” Organ said.
